Camerata Zürich

The Camerata Zürich was founded by Räto Tschupp in 1957, having evolved out of a loosely organized chamber ensemble. Its repertoire has always both emphasized music of our time, and also older music that has otherwise been seldom played, and for whose discovery the Camerata was in many cases responsible. The Camerata’s many recordings bear witness to their range of repertoire, which of course also includes the traditional literature for chamber orchestra. This variety of approach has helped to establish the Camerata in Zurich’s concert life; it gives a double series of subscription concerts every year. Their activities are complemented by guest appearances both at home and abroad.
