The Chapel Choir of The Queen's College Oxford

The Chapel Choir of The Queen’s College enjoys a reputation as one of Oxford's finest mixed-voice choirs. During term-time its primary role is to provide the music for services three times a week in the early-eighteenth-century college chapel. It also presents concerts regularly in Oxford and elsewhere, and tours abroad annually. In recent years it has given recitals in the USA, Spain, Portugal, and France. A previous recording (ASV CD DCA851) featuring music by two alumni of Queen’s—Herbert Howells and Kenneth Leighton—was Critics’ Choice in Gramophone (‘Superb choral singing directed with loving care’—Classic CD).

The choir of The Queen’s College enjoys a reputation as one of the finest mixed-voice choirs in the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. During term-time it provides the music for services in the College’s glorious Baroque chapel.  It presents concerts regularly in Oxford, elsewhere in the UK, and abroad, and has broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4. Tours in recent years have included the U.S.A., Sri Lanka, Portugal, Spain, and France. The choir consists of sixteen undergraduate Choral Scholars, two graduate Lay Clerks, and other students from Queen’s and elsewhere.
