Escorial Choir
Escorial
was formed by Christopher Duarte and some friends in 1986 to explore the
repertoire of Spanish & Portuguese Renaissance choral music. Since then its
repertoire has expanded considerably and now includes larger-scale works by
Tallis (Gaude gloriosa), Byrd (Great Service) and many
contemporary composers. The full choir meets once a year to undertake a specific
project or concert and has performed in the City of London Festival, Waltham
Abbey & Norwich Cathedral. This is their first commercial recording.
