Thomas Gropper
Thomas Gropper born in Braunlage/Harz in 1969, studied opera
and concert singing under Prof. Hanno Blaschke and later under Prof. Markus Goritzki at
the Munich conservatory. He received further important successes in Helmut Deutschs
song class and in Adalbert Krauss oratorio class. At the moment, he is working
together with Josef Metternich. Gropper, a baritone, gives concerts in oratorios (from
Bach to Orff). He also arranges opera parts and programmes for song recitals. Besides his
occupation as a singer, he works with several choirs, among others the Münchner
Bach-Chor as a voice trainer, and as a singing teacher at a Munich drama school.
Since Autumn 1997, he has been teaching at the Munich conservatory as a lecturer.
Mayr Mass
Was born in Braunlage/Harz in 1969 and studied voice at the Munich Musikhochschule,
first with Hanno Blaschke, later with Professor Markus Goritzki. He received other
important impulses during his song studies with Helmut Deutsch and in his oratorio singing
with Adalbert Kraus. In 1997 he started teaching as lecturer and he has been a professor
at the Musikhochschule in Munich since the fall of 2001, where he teaches the subjects
voice, science of voice and didactics of singing.
