Elisabeth
Häfliger was born in Zug in 1976. She was given her first clarinet lessons at
the age of 12. In 1992, she began her studies in Zurich, first with Heinz Hofer,
then with Elmar Schmid at the Zurich Conservatory. She gained distinction in her
final concert diploma. She has furthered her studies by taking part in numerous
master courses, e.g. with Guy Deplus in Nice and with Thomas Friedli in Sion.
Elisabeth Häfliger has won various prizes in national and international
competitions. She was engaged early on as solo clarinetist by various
orchestras, and already has a busy career at home and abroad as a soloist and as
a chamber musician.
