Matthew Halls - Organ

Matthew Halls joined the Cathedral School in September 1994 as Organ Scholar at the Cathedral. He began his musical training as a chorister in his local Parish Church, before moving to Derby Cathedral as Organ Scholar. In 1992 he was awarded the organ scholarship at Southwell Minster, whilst studying for his A-levels at the Minster School. He was a prize-winner in recent examinations of the Royal College of Organists and is currently Organ Scholar of New College, Oxford. where he is reading for a degree in music. The Salisbury Brass Ensemble was formed in 1984 by its musical director, Neville Moody. The Ensemble performs extensively in the south of England and has been on tour to France and Belgium. It has a wide repertoire of music ranging from baroque to jazz, suitable for any occasion.
