Yvonne Howard - Mezzo-Soprano

On leaving RNCM Yvonne was soon in demand, early roles including the title role in La Cenerentola with ETO, Marcellina Le Nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne, Fricka and Waltraute in CBTO’s Ring Saga. Since debuting at the Royal Opera House as Mercedes Carmen she has sung several roles such as Karolka Jenufa, Marcellina, 2^nd Lady and 3^rd Lady Die Zauberflöte, Suzuki Madama Butterfly, Cornelia Giulio Cesare, Berta Il Barbière di Siviglia, Flower Maiden and the Heavenly Voice in Parsifal. Concert and recital work has taken her around the world, receiving critical acclaim for her interpretation of the Angel in Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Verdi’s Requiem and the song cycles of Mahler and Berlioz. Recent engagements include Leonore Fidelio at Opera Holland Park, Marilyn Klinghoffer in a TV film of The Death of Klinghoffer, Dejanira Hercules at Buxton, Irene Theodora in Strasbourg, Madam Larina at ENO and Meg Page The Merry Wives of Windsor at Buxton.
