Paul Plunkett - Trumpets
In his native Australia Paul Plunkett was Lecturer at the Canberra Institute of the Arts and at the Victoria College of the Arts in Melbourne. A Churchill Fellowship brought him to Europe (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland) where his reputation grew as one of the most sought-after interpreters in his field. Solo engagements take Paul Plunkett regularly to the USA, Japan, New Zealand and Australia, where he also gives lecture demonstrations and master-classes. Paul Plunkett is Professor of Trumpet and Head of Brass at the Hochschule für Musik Köln in Aachen, Germany and Lecturer at the Musikhochschule Winterthur Zürich in Switzerland. His teaching covers the entire trumpet repertoire, embracing every style of music. Paul Plunkett's CD recordings document this versatility and his virtuosity. He recently published his own trumpet method "Beyond Brass Basics, a guide to common sense brass playing" (Spaeth/Schmid Verlag) and is occupied with the development of new models of trumpet - both baroque reproductions and modern instruments - as well as constantly editing music hitherto unavailable for performance.
