Pamela Helen Stephen - Mezzo Soprano
Pamela Helen Stephen has a large concert repertoire and has appeared in Vienna, Brisbane, Sydney, Tokyo, Berlin, Lisbon, The Hague, Dallas, Montreux and Prague, and in London at the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall in the promenade concert series in repertoire including DREAM OF GERONTIUS, SONGS OF THE AUVERGNE, Britten SPRING SYMPHONY, Mendelssohn a midsummer nights dream, Beethoven 9th SYMPHONY, NELSON MASS, Tessa THE GONDOLIERS, Vaughan Williams SIR JOHN IN LOVE, Fatima OBERON, Idamante IDOMENEO and Mrs. Bubble PILGRIM'S PROGRESS. Her many recordings include Phoebe THE YEOMEN OF THE GUARD (Mackerras), Second Niece PETER GRIMES (Hickox), Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Gardiner), Child L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILEGES (Previn) and the continuation of the complete Haydn Masses for Chandos with Collegium Musicum 90 with her husband Richard Hickox. Foreign engagements include Page SALOME at the Los Angeles Music Center, Fox CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, Sonya WAR & PEACE at the Spoleto Festival, Second Niece PETER GRIMES in Lisbon and Cherubino with John Eliot Gardiner in Lisbon, Ludwigsburg, Paris and Amsterdam. Engagements in 2000 include Maddelena RIGOLETTO for Los Angeles Opera and Octavian DER ROSENKAVALIER at The Spoleto Festival. Concert performances include THE DREAM OF GERONTIUS for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Bamberger Symphoniker, Baba the Turk THE RAKE'S PROGRESS for the City of London Sinfonia at the Barbican and SEA PICTURES for the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, as well as Haydn NELSON MASS for Collegium Musicum at the BBC proms.
