Charles Stewart -
Violin
Charles Stewart has been a member of Chilingirian Quartet since 1992. The
Chilingirian, resident at the Royal College of Music, is one of the worlds most
widely traveled quartets, having performed at major venues in more than forty
countries in the last ten years alone. In addition to their performing and
recording activities the quartet also enjoys working with younger ensembles at
the Royal College and at other courses and festivals including their own at West
Dean, Sussex. The Chilingirian are greatly looking forward to collaborating with
Yuko Inoue in recordings of the Mozart quintets in the forthcoming season.
Charles is also a founder member of the chamber group Room-Music, resident at
St. John’s, Smith Square, London, and led the Fibonacci Sequence in their
recent recording of music for bassoon and chamber ensemble for Deux-Elles.
