DDD Total Time = 68.50 - Recorded in Lancing College
Chapel, Sussex, January 1995
This recording featuring a selection of the most
popular pieces from the "Oxford Book of Wedding Music". The disc is a must for
all prospective wedding couples and provides a wide array of musical choices to reflect
the moods of the various parts of the service.
Whilst the recording has a definite practical use, it could also be
said to contain some of the greatest works ever written, for instance: Wagners Meistersinger
Overture, the Air and Hornpipe from Handels "Water
Music", Trumpet tunes and Marches by Purcell , and with appropriate Pomp
and Circumstance, Waltons Crown Imperial and Widors famous Toccata.
The famous West Organ at Lancing College Chapel is played by Jeremy Filsell, one of the
foremost English organists and pianists. Recently he received widespread acclaim for his
performances of Howells and Stevens Piano Music.
