DDD Total Time = 75.27 - Recorded at Belfast Cathedral, Belfast, Northern Ireland 1996

This is a quite outstanding and unique record. Recorded by the deeply-admired choir of Belfast Cathedral in the summer of 1996, with the fine organist Ian Barber and directed by the gifted David Drinkell, this album is nothing less than a complete sequence of music for the Celebration of Holy Communion.

In this regard, it offers the complete Communion Service in F by the great Harold Darke, one of the finest settings by an English composer of this century, alongside music by Herbert Howells - organ music and some beautiful anthems, with Walton’s superb "Litany", the unjustly-neglected "And I Saw a New Heaven" by Edgar Bainton, and a set of deeply-moving anthems by Percy Whitlock and others.

The magnificent acoustic of this great cathedral is outstandingly well caught by this brand-new 20-bit digital recording; the choir and organ are exceptionally well served by the haunting sound on this disc.
