The exceptionally-gifted young British organist, John Scott, here tackles some of the most virtuosic and staggeringly impressive music ever written for "The King of Instruments".

In recent decades, the full range of Liszt’s genius has more and more come to be appreciated by music-lovers world-wide - and amongst this range is Liszt’s impressive compositions for organ, which, together with those by Mendelssohn, is the most important repertoire for the instrument composed since the works of J.S. Bach.

The mid-nineteenth large-scale organ music by Liszt demands a massive instrument to relays the full range of its powerful expression - and no instrument could be more suitable for this realisation than that of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

On this great example of the organ-builder’s art, John Scott plays this programme of Liszt’s organ music to the manner born: here is a combination of virtuosity and musical intelligence, allied to a superb recording quality, that makes this CD one of the most desirable organ issues in recent years.
