Gerald Knight

Dr. Gerald Knight was organist of Canterbury Cathedral from 1937 until 1952, when he became resident Director of The Royal School of Church Music, following its move from Canterbury to Addington Palace, Croydon.

Among his compositions are several chants, one of which was specially written for Psalms 42 and 45; the music moves to its high point as the words reach the affirmative statement, "Put thy trust in God".
