| The Sandra G. Montrone Pipe Organ was designed and built by N P Mander Ltd of London, England, and is the
largest mechanical action organ in New York City. The Installation began in November 1992
and was completed in 1993. The organ contains 68 speaking stops composed of 91 ranks of
pipes. The case rises 45 feet from the choir loft floor and the instrument weighs
approximately 20 tons. There are over 5000 pipes which are played from a four-manual
console located in the rear gallery. The purchase of the organ was made possible through
the generous contributions of an anonymous donor and the Paul Montrone family.
