Biography of Dolenc Brigitte:
Brigitte Dolenc, born in Salzburg, began her musical studies at the age of 12 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She studied under Professor Kurt Neumüller, himself a pupil of Elly Ney. From an early age, Brigitte performed publicity specialising in classical period, in particular interpreting Mozart, Schubert and Haydn.
At the age of 20, Brigitee moved to Vienna, to study ancient history and archaeology and then continued her musical studies in Switzerland where she soon established a reputation for interpreting contemporary music.
Brigitte works together with composers who write chamber-music for different instruments as well as solo-pieces.
Brigitte has been invited to play in America, Norway, Germany, Austria, England and Switzerland. She is particularly interested in chamber music of the 19th and 20th Century, but she also performed as a soloist or as a continuo-player in opera and choral works.
Brigitte has taught for many years and is very interested in working with small children. She also tutors students playing in chamber groups and tries to help them developing their musicality and to motivate them performing in public. Future plans include more recordings of rarely heard-chamber music and live performances with commentary.
