Sibelius Jean (1865-1957)

Biography of Sibelius Jean:

Sibelius is best-remembered as the composer of a series of seven magnificent symphonies, one of the finest symphonic cycles by any composer of the twentieth-century but, in addition to his larger works, Sibelius also wrote a number of shorter, popular orchestral and chamber works. Before deciding to become a composer, however, Sibelius was intent on pursuing a career as a virtuoso violinist, and amongst his large output, as well as a magnificent Concerto, we can find several short works for the violin. These include a coquettish Mazurka in D minor, a lively and exuberant piece.
