Biography of Vocalensemble Ingolstadt:
The vocal ensemble Ingolstadt was founded in 1997 by Franz Hauk. The choir consists of approximately 30 enthusiastic male and female voices, which meet regularly for intensive rehearsals. The repertoire is focused on music from the 16th to the 18th century and the oratorios of the 18th century, which are often created and performed together with ensembles of ancient music from Freiburg, Basle, Bonn or Cologne in order to achieve historical performance practices. Voice training of all members with the aid of a professional concert artist and teachers is a regular part of the choir’s training. In summer 2000 the choir toured Norway and in 2002 they toured Italy. Recently the ensemble’s first CD was released with a first recording of Simon Mayr’s Missa c-Moll (Missa in C Minor) as well as unknown sacred works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
