Biography of Girod Marie-Catherine:
Marie-Catherine Girod dedicates herself with much commitment to the works of forgotten or unknown composers, knowing the specialist press and the audience on her side. To the composers she has explored belong Abel Decaux, Charles Tournemire, Paul le Flem, Vincent d’Indy, Maurice Emmanuel, Pierre-Octave Ferroud, Louis Aubert, Gustave Samazeuilh, Manuel Rosenthal, Arnold Bax and York Bowen. She is a frequent guest of national and international festivals and is regularly heard on the French radio. The French Ministry of Cultural Affairs lent her in recognition of her merits for French music the title “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres”. For numerous of her CD recordings – amongst them many world premiere recordings –, she was
nationally and internationally awarded.
