Biography of Badener Vokalensemble:
The Badener Vokalensemble was founded in 1983 and comprises thirty committed, non-professional singers with much experience in choral singing and in vocal work. They placed great emphasis on vocal training as a choir. Together with their professional vocal coach, their goal is a lean, pure, flexible and well-balanced sound. The name of the ensemble refers to the city of Baden in Canton Aargau in Switzerland, where the choir rehearses and performs most of its concerts. The Badener Vokalensemble dedicates itself above all to the chamber works of the sacred and secular repertoire, and occasionally also ventures into the theatrical realm. Its repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary music and thus encompasses the most varied musical styles and combinations. One aspect of their intensive choral work is giving world premières of new works.
