Biography of Jenkinson Katherine:
Member of the Aquinas Piano Trio - Katherine Jenkinson (cello) studied with Florence Hooton, Colin Carr and David Strange, and has performed throughout Europe, in Africa and Asia. She gave her Wigmore Hall debut in 2004 and has since returned several times. She has been kindly supported by trusts including the Tillett Trust, Dorothy Grinstead MBE and The Worshipful Company of Musicians. A former member of the Allegri String Quartet, Katherine also has a keen interest in contemporary music, performing with the London Sinfonietta and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group amongst others, and has worked with composers including Arvo Part and Thomas Hyde. She has recently given masterclasses at Kazan Conservatory, Russia and Almaty Conservatory of Music, Kazakhstan as well as coaching at Trinity School of Music as part of the International String Quartet Festival and at RAM. In 2011 Katherine was made Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. Katherine plays a 1703 Italian cello by Taningardi and is grateful to the Countess of Munster for their help in the purchase and restoration of this cello.
