Biography of Mihneva Petya:
Petya Mihneva was born in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, in 1982. She studied piano at the State Academy of Music in Sofia and at the Bern University of the Arts, where she received her concert diploma in 2007. She completed her education at the Zurich University of the Arts in the class of Professor Eckart Heiligers and received her diploma in piano chamber music with distinction in 2009. Petya Mihneva is a prize winner of the Duttweiler Hug Competition for Chamber Music in Zurich and has won first prize at the “Classical and Contemporary” International Piano Competition Bulgaria, the Franz Schubert International Piano Competition in Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian Competition for Piano Accompaniment. She has also won prizes at the Seiler Competition for piano duo and the International Music Competition “Music and Earth” in Sofia. As a concert pianist and chamber musician, she has given concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, New Zealand, and South Korea, including performances at renowned European music festivals such as the Feldkirch Festival, the Mostly Mozart Festival, and the iennale Berne. Petya Mihneva is an accompanist at the Zurich University of the Arts and a member of the Trio Norea. In addition, she is a much sought-after accompanist in international master classes and competitions.
