She has attended regular summer workshops, clinics and master classes at the University of the Pacific (California), University of Halix (Nova Scotia) and Temple University and has appeared in master classes in Italy, Germany, France and the UK. Maryanne has toured with major Broadway Theater Companies including Phantom of the Opera, Carousel and West Side Story in Europe playing Eb, Bb and Bass Clarinets. She held principal chair with Boston Opera Orchestra for one season under the direction of Sarah Caldwell during her Conservatory years and was also in demand as a jazz clarinettist. In 2008 she was invited onto the artist roster for Prestige Classical Productions and collaborated with several artists to perform a world premiere concert at Merkin Hall in New York with a classical trio. The performance was well received and reviewed by the prestigious New York Concert Review Magazine toting “the clarinet lines were played with virtuosity and flair.”
She has held principal clarinet with several local, national and international orchestras and has made several solo appearances and in the Pacific Northwest, she serves as principal with the Federal Way Symphony, Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra and Everett Symphony. Maryanne works as a clarinet soloist along with taped electronics that include fax, phones, airport, birds, country sound backgrounds and much more. By incorporating different background sound, she then creates her own music in and around the taped electronics. Her clean interpretive style, superior musicianship and unique programming content put her in demand as a one-woman-show that includes her “virtual orchestra” of clarinet with electronics.
