Ford Mark - Conductor

Biography of Ford Mark:

Mark Ford was born in Bromley, England and educated at St Dunstan’s College, Catford, where he studied the organ with the international recitalist David Sanger. He continued his academic and musical studies at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he held an Organ Scholarship and read law. Whilst at Cambridge, Mark directed the Chapel Choir (whom he accompanied on tours to Bavaria/Germany and Ireland), as well as the college Choir and Orchestra, and gave organ recitals at various venues in Cambridge and London, as well as at Coventry Cathedral. He was also a member of the University Chamber Choir, with whom he toured Spain and made a number of recordings. He founded The Purcell Singers in 1994 and has directed them in concerts of wide-ranging music from the 15th century to the present day. Together, they have performed over 200 works by more than 60 composers. With the choir he has also made a number of CD recordings, including a disc of Christmas carols for KPM, which he co-arranged and on which he also plays the organ. By profession, Mark is a solicitor and works in the information technology field at a leading international practice in the City of London. He is General Editor of a major work on data protection law, Data Protection Laws of the World, five chapters of which he also authored, and is the author of Data Protection and Employment, published in 2001 by the Industrial Society.
