Biography of Moody Howard:
Howard Moody has conducted the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, Sarum Chamber Orchestra (of whom he is Artistic Director), Opera Factory London and Zurich, been a member of the music staff at English National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and the Royal Opera House. Recordings include numerous studio and live recordings as conductor, composer and pianist. Plans include conducting The Magic Flute for Opera Factory and a concert with the saxophonist John Surman in the London Jazz Festival. David Watkin and Howard Moody met in the National Youth Orchestra in 1979 where they were principal cello and principal second violin. Their debut was hailed in The Times as absolutely electrifying. In 1996 they gave the first performance of the Cello Sonata by Francis Pott at the Wigmore Hall.
