Biography of O'Neal Christopher:
Chris’s orchestral positions include principal oboe with the Orchestra of St. John’s Smith Square and co-principal oboe with the London Mozart Players and he has appeared as guest principal with all the major orchestras in this country. His first love, however, remains chamber music and as well as the Fibonacci Sequence, he is also founder member of the Elysian Wind Quintet and Capricorn, and is often invited to guest with such ensembles as the Nash, Endymion, Lontano and London Winds. As soloist, he has played throughout Europe and also the USA. His recording of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with the English Sinfonia and Sir Charles Groves features among many highly acclaimed recordings for Hyperion, Pickwick and Chandos. His CD ‘Oboe’ is the fourth in the Fibonacci/Deux-Elles series and has recently been released.
