Paraschivescu Nicoleta - Harpsichord

Biography of Paraschivescu Nicoleta:

Nicoleta Paraschivescu was born in Sibiu (Hermannstadt) and studied organ under Ursula Philippi at the Gheorghe Dima Conservatory in Cluj-Napoca (Klausenburg). In 1998 she graduated with an honours degree. Subsequently, she graduated in early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in the subjects organ under Jean-Claude Zehnder and harpsichord under Andrea Marcon. She successfully completed her postgraduate studies in art at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts under Prof. Jon Laukvik. She received further musical stimuli from Enrico Baiano. She has given concerts in several European countries and at renowned festivals, such as: the Davos Festival, Bach Dies Cremona, Festival d’Orgue de Bastogne, Eifel Music Festival, Organ Festival East Friesland, Organ Festival Weeks Rhineland-Palatinate, Festival Laufen, Festival Culturescapes, Basel, Festival L’Aquila, Rome. She regularly works together with various ensembles (such as L’Arcadia, La Corona) and orchestras (basel sinfonietta, Collegium Musicum Basel, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra). Recordings for the RTBFMusiq3, Belgium. She recorded music from Transylvania, Italy and Southern Germany for Swiss Radio DRS, and a CD with music by J.S. Bach and Italian masters on the historical König-organ (1727) in Steinfeld. In co-operation with Swiss Radio DRS and the audite label she recorded a CD with Orgelmusik aus dem multiethnischen Transsylvanien (organ music from multi-ethnic Transylvania) on the historical Walcker-organ in the parish church in Winterthur. She is an organist at the Kern-organ in the Theodorskirche in Basel. She is completing a doctoral study course in Performing and Creative Arts at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent
