Biography of Payer Roman:
Born in Vienna in 1979, Roman Payer became a member of the Vienna Boys’ Choir at the age of eight, and performed there as a soprano soloist until 1993. Since 1996 he has been studying solistic singing at the Conservatory of Vienna in the class of Helga Meyer-Wagner and since 2002 in the department opera school with Lucia Meschwitz. As a soloist he participated in various operates and choir concerts. His repertoire includes numerous masses, among others by Haydn, Mozart and Schubert, as well as the tenor part from Mendelssohn’s Elias (Vienna Music Club). Among other parts he sang in Haydn’s Requiem, Händel’s Messias, Bastien in Mozart’s opera, Hans in Smetana’s Verkaufte Braut, Ottokar in Strauß’ Zigeunerbaron (Festival Bad Hall), as well as Proteo in Nicòlo Jommelli’s L’isola disabitata (Festivals at the castle Ludwigsburg).
