Campbell James - Clarinet

Biography of Campbell James:

In 1997 the clarinettist James Campbell received Canada’s highest honour, The Order of Canada, in recognition of over 25 years of performances across the world. He has soloed with over 50 orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony, and has collaborated with the likes of Glenn Gould, with whom he made five television programmes, Aaron Copland and string quartets such as the Amadeus, Guarneri, Fine Arts and Vermeer. His discography lists over 20 albums, including his Juno award-winning album Stolen Gems and his recording of the quintets of Mozart and Weber. Campbell is the Artistic Director of The Festival of the Sound (in Parry Sound, Canada) and is Professor of Music at Indiana University’s School of Music.
